ACADEMIC SUMMER PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS These programs are not required for college admission. They may help build a student's experience and knowledge as well as confidence in a selecting a potential major in college. Many of these selective programs require an application and the student must be admitted to the program. Selective programs are a better choice for a summer academic experience compared to those that are non-competitive.
