CLIENTS
Outcome: Princeton University - Track & Field
The excellent experience we had working with College Fit OC and Katie Andersen deserves to be recognized. Having investigated other college prep counseling organizations, we were aware that there are a number of viable options. However, Katie is unique in her ability to provide truly valuable guidance on both the academic and athletic paths for college exploration, selection and admission. As a former intercollegiate athlete at a highly respected university, Katie has first-hand knowledge of the recruiting process and the experiences of a college athlete. She also has deep and actionable understanding of the academic credentials, social activities, and admissions steps required to stand out in today’s competitive college entrance process.
Starting with our initial meeting, we were convinced that College Fit OC was the right choice for us. Katie came well prepared with an overview of her process, as well as relevant statistics on intercollegiate track performance for our son (a high school track athlete). She also established credibility with her business background, the success of her college counseling practice, and as a mom who clearly understands the parents’ role in the process and their desire to have the best possible outcome for their child.
Once we enrolled in College Fit OC’s program, we were impressed every step of the way. Katie leverages cloud-based technology tools to provide a wealth of information about potential college opportunities and to keep the process on-track, while also ensuring that each of her clients gain from her insights. She provided thoughtful guidance to our son in exploring and prioritizing college options; and worked closely with him to ensure that all of his college contacts and admissions materials were of high quality and accurately reflected his character and interests. She also served as a trusted counselor and calming influence as our son (and his parents!) experienced the natural anxiety associated with the highly competitive recruiting and admissions process.
In short, Katie exceeded our expectations in every respect. The result; our son received early admission to Princeton University, where he will attend this fall as a 1st year student and member of their track team. We are delighted with this outcome and very proud of our son. We are also thankful to Katie for all of the help and support she provided to prepare our son for a great college experience.
Outcome: Naval Academy - Baseball
I felt compelled to write a testimonial about Katie Andersen and College Fit due to my son’s exceptional college outcome with her help and guidance. The process of navigating the college entrance process, the NCAA process, and the recruiting process were arduous. My son did all the work to research schools and communicate with the coaches. This process can be especially stressful if your child is shy. Having the tools from College Fit made that process so much easier for him.
As a senior mom, I am now watching several talented athletes lose college opportunities due to missed Spanish classes or for not taking the SAT. Misinformation and slip-ups seem to be a common occurrence.
Katie gave us a timeline starting with my son’s freshman year. We were ready and prepared every step of the way.
I can only compare the recruiting process to dating. You never know when a coach will ask you to attend a camp or ask for your transcripts. It always seemed like it was at the most unlikely times. However, it all paid off, and I can say from experience that it may not have if it wasn't for College Fit.
When my son’s club baseball coach approached me at a game and asked me for my son’s ACT scores and if I had his transcripts, I had it all. Then the Naval Academy starting calling my son every Sunday to chat, “What do you want to do when you grow up son?” “Do you have any recent video of your play?”
My son was able to be very responsive. The pre-proofed email went out with the links to all of his videos attached. The following Sunday we were all invited for an official visit to Annapolis, Maryland where he was offered a $400,000 education and a roster spot as a pitcher and an outfielder.
Amazing! Thank you Katie for preparing us for the most awesome experience.
MISSION VIEJO HIGH SCHOOL - INTERNSHIP
As a volunteer intern in the Mission Viejo High School Guidance Department, I had the opportunity to work specifically with student-athletes (grades 9-12) playing various sports including: football, basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, golf, track, swimming, diving, water polo, wrestling and even rodeo. I worked side-by-side with the Counselors and the Student Services Technicians to advise student-athletes and their families regarding NCAA and NAIA eligibility, the recruiting process, college search, contacting college coaches, and athletic scholarships. It was an amazing year and I was so grateful to have the support of the Guidance Department and the coaching staff.
Dan Sullivan - Assistant Principal at Mission Viejo High School
"Katie has taken her training from UCLA and her personal athletic background and built a huge base of knowledge in the intricacies of college athletic admissions. Working closely with our counselors, administration, and athletic department, she has designed a sustainable athletic counseling framework that MVHS will be able to use for many years into the future. She has created and presented numerous seminars to students, parents, and coaches about the basics of collegiate athletic eligibility and college selection. She has created numerous documents and tools to guide the high school student through the eligibility, admissions, and scholarship process...
Katie has counseled many individual students on their NCAA status. She has worked with individual families and she has worked in tandem with our high school counseling staff to address some very complex eligibility issues. She has developed college entrance plans with students and families and she has contacted the NCAA Eligibility Center, and many 4-year and community colleges on behalf of our school to receive direct clarification on specific and unique issues. Katie Andersen has been a tremendous asset for MVHS this past year. She has the skills and a wealth of information to educate and counsel students effectively. Combining this with her highly professional demeanor makes her a great candidate for serving the needs of students."

Katie Andersen has been an amazing asset to me and my players this year. Without her guidance I would not have been able to get my players ready to accept and apply for college entrance. Katie not only gave us the tools we needed to get the process going but she guided us the entire way to ensure that all of the proper steps were taken. I whole heartedly endorse Katie to help anyone looking to play in college. She has a firm knowledge of everything a student athlete needs to do to get to the college of their choice. She takes the guesswork away and eases your mind that everything is in the right place!
A.C. - Diver at Mission Viejo High School
Katie Andersen has been so helpful with A.C. on guiding her with the tools she needs to get her started. She guided us the entire way; she showed us how to get what we needed. Katie had everything available, she had A.C.'s transcript, her NCAA worksheet and scores. Most importantly Katie had every break down on the scores that helped A.C. know where she needed to be. Katie gave us the tools for setting up her college profiles to coaches, letters and videos to the coaches as well. Katie’s knowledge has helped us and A.C. to be more productive on her college searches. We are so thankful to have met Katie and her outstanding help in this overwhelming journey.

Katie gave us a timeline starting with my son’s freshman year. We were ready and prepared every step of the way.
- We had a spreadsheet of D1 schools and understood which ones were a the good fit
- We knew what schools to tour and camps to take and didn’t waste resources or energy
- We knew which classes to take and what questions to ask our school counselor
- My son was prepped and ready for the ACT in advance
- My son had his NCAA Eligibility Center ID set up
- We had a YouTube channel with updated videos of game and skills play
- A script was created for both email and verbal communication with coaches
